Edo High Court demoshed

Buildings housing Edo State High Courts 5, 6 and 7 have been demolished.

The demolition exercise, which is at the instance of the State government, is to pave way for the construction of ultra modern court halls.
The buildings, located along Reservation Road, were among the cluster of buildings, which comprised​ of the State Judiciary Service Commission, High Courts, and Secretariat buildings, were constructed during the military administration of late Brig.-General Samuel Ogbemudia.
In a related development, the abandoned Block C secretariat building constructed halfway during the military administration of the late Ogbemudia, is now set for completion.
The premises is now a beehive of activities, as hundreds of construction workers are busy setting up construction equipment to commence work on the abandoned 10-story gigantic secretariat building.
It would be recalled that the State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, had on May 1, during the Workers’ Day rally held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, promised to give the judiciary and civil service face lift by reconstructing some judiciary buildings and also completing the abandoned Block C secretariat building.
