President Mohammadu Buhari:

Kinsmen of the ministerial nominee from Kogi State, Prof. Steven Ocheni have lauded President Muhammad Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello over his nomination.

Ocheni’s name was submitted to the Senate last week for confirmation and replacement of late Barrister James Ocholli who died in an accident last year March.

Ocheni’s kinsmen today through their community organisation, Igalamela Community Stakeholders in a press conference in Lokoja described Ochieni as a square peg in a square hole who is compatible with the President’s dogged fight against corruption.

Addressing the press, President of the organisation, Shauibu Amodu said, “We sincerely believe that our son Professor Ocheini fits into your style of governance because he is a man of impeccable character that has excelled in several spheres of life, rising to the peak of his career in the academic world. The nominee is highly resourceful, innovative, versatile and hard working officer.

“He has distinguished himself as an astute administrator, academic and a diplomat per excellence. He garnishes these rare qualities and attributes with the absolute fear of God and has been consistent in service, promotion and enhancement of the wellbeing of the people of his community and indeed those that cross his path.”

He also commended Governor Yahaya Bello who found it expedient to nominate one of their own and for being detribalised, said the governor has rendered himself to the community and cemented his campaign for unity, “Your Excellency’s favourable disposition to our son is highly acknowledged by us. We are proud of the Governor’s commitment towards ensuring equity, justice, and fairness in the distribution of political appointments as well as infrastructural amenities to every section of the State.”
