Dumping PDP For APC Was A Difficult Decision – Idimogu

Defected Peoples Democratic Party lawmaker in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Jude Idimogu, has said that it was a very difficult decision for him dumping the party that gave him prominence for the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 02 in the state Assembly, while speaking during an interview with the media (including TheNEWS), on Wednesday last week at the Assembly, said his priority was to touch the lives of residents of his constituency positively, adding that achieving it seems impossible being an opposition member.

”As I speak, I am a full member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), but with due respect, honour and regard, I appreciate the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on whose platform I got the mandate to become a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly. I recognise the role the people played in my election. I know that the Igbo people in the constituency as well as the Yoruba all voted for me, so I want to use this opportunity to ex-plain why I have to join the APC.

”It wasn’t easy for me; it was a very difficult decision. However, a man must be a man. First, I had to look at my constituency and my mission in the House.

”But, as an opposition member, it was not easy for me, more so, as an Igbo man and the only none indigene in the House. You will recall that I had promised the people during the campaigns that if elected, my priority would be to touch the lives of residents of the constituency, especially in the areas of youth empowerment and roads rehabilitation,” he said.

He said despite the fact that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and the House have special love for him regardless of his being in the opposition and non – indigene, the fact remains that there are benefits he does not have access to.

”I saw that days are going and my constituency will ask me what I was able to achieve at the end of the tenure and I really want to achieve something.

”After a great thought, I decided to join the APC in the interest of my people and in order to attract more infrastructural development to Oshodi/ Isolo Constituency 11. As I speak, four new roads have been approved for the constituency by the governor.

”Also, the Ladipo Market Bridge is already on the pipeline and the governor is ready to embark on more infrastructural facilities, not only in Oshodi/ Isolo Constituency 11, but across the state. That will benefit the Igbos and other residents of Lagos,” he assured.
