Thousands of workers took to the streets on Thursday Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja protesting what they described as the worsening human condition in Nigeria.

In Abuja, a delegation of the workers led by Comrade Aliyu Wabba, the President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and  Bala Kaigama, President, Trade Union Congress (TUC) were in Aso Rock presidential villa where they ment with Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

The Labour leaders presented an 18 points charter of demands to the Vice President while pledging to work with the Buhari administration in the fight against corruption.

In his response, the Vice President said the major problem of Nigeria is corruption which must be tackled before the nation can move forward.

He however noted that the Buhari administration has been committed to the welfare of workers since he came into the office. He added that the Buhari government has demonstrated this with the help given to the states to pay salaries and pensions of workers through the bail -out funds.

The meeting of the leaders of the workers with the Acting President however ended with laughter as seen in these photographs.
