There is imminent crisis in the Edo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), over suspension of about 30 state leaders of the party.
Among those allegedly suspended are leaders of the party from various wards across the state.
Those suspended include the youth leader, Osakpamwan Eriyo and others, Chief Francis Inegbeneki, Chief Henry Okoror, state Vice Chairman ( Edo Central), for allegedly holding the State chairman of the party hostage in the house of Okoror illegally.
According to a statement signed by the state chairman of the party, Barr. Anslem Ojezua, the State Working Committee had in a meeting ratified the suspension.
The statement said a committee headed by the State secretary oof the party, Osaro Idah, has been set up to investigate the circumstance surrounding the unfortunate incident and it is expected to submit a report in one month.
When contacted for comment, Chief Inegbineki who alleged that Ojezua is on a mission to destroy APC in Edo, noted that the suspension of the state leaders Chief was part of the ploy to destroy the party.
He alleged that he became object of attack by Ojezua because he had petitioned the National Working Committee of the party over his (Ojezua) anti-party activities and embezzlement of party funds.
According to him, since he was appointed as the party leader in the Edo central senatorial district, Ojezua has seen him as a threat because he knew that he would not be able to control him.
“Ojezua has no power to suspend me because I am not a member of his state EXCO, it is only the ward organs of the part that can suspend me,” Inegbineki said.
