Failure to release El Zak Zaky: Court threatens SSS DG with imprisonment

An Abuja Federal High Court has written a “Notice of Consequences of Disobedience to Order of Court” to the Director General, State Security Service, SSS.

Dated 20 January 2017, the court threatened to commit the SSS DG to prison if he refuses to release Sheikh Ibraheem El Zakzaky, leader of the Shiites and Mallam Zeenah Ibraheem in its custody.

The court delivered a judgement on 2 December 2016 which ordered the SSS DG to release the two within 40 days.
