DSS Operatives

A female staff member of Nigeria’s president’s office, Aso Rock Presidential Villa was injured by an accidental discharge from a gun belonging to an operative of Department of State Services, DSS, according to a report in Abuja based Daily Trust.

The newspaper quoted eyewitnesses as confirming that that the incident occurred at the administrative block of the Villa.

The incident occurred when an operative of the Department of State Security (DSS) was trying to drop his gun as requested by the security officers attached to the reception.

According to the newspaper, the DSS operative is not among the security officers assigned to the reception.

The injured woman was said to have been rushed to the State House Medical Centre where she is currently being treated.

The newspaper reported that the woman sustained injuries on her stomach and lap.
