The National Secretary of Accord Party, Dr. Samson Isibor, has approached a Benin division of Federal High Court, seeking to unseat the National Chairman of the party, Mr. Lawal Muhammad Nalado and other executive members.

Joined in the suit filed by Counsel to the Plaintiffs, S.E. Imoisili Esq and marked FHC/B/CS/115/16, is the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as 3rd Respondent.

The Plaintiffs (Dr. Samson Isibor and Accord Party), are asking the Court for an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants from parading themselves as National Executive Committee Officers of the party, taking any action for the party among others.

They claimed that the 1st Respondent has violated the Constitution of the Accord Party by holding double appointments.

According to the Plaintiffs, apart from being the National Chairman of Accord Party, Nalado is also the current Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda since 2013.

The Plaintiffs therefore ask the Court for an order of perpetual injunction restraining him from himself as the National Chairman of the party, pending the determination of the substantive suit.

The case has been fixed for Tuesday, 13 December, 2016, for hearing.
