The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State 2015 gubernatorial election, Dr Dakuku Peterside has berated Governor Nyesom Wike and chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Felix Obuah over what he described as ‘shameful and irresponsible’ attempt to rope him and other APC leaders into a phantom printing of fake INEC result sheets.

Dakuku who is making his first reaction to the printing of fake INEC saga also in a statement issued by his media team condemned the kidnap of his cousin, Atonyesia Peterside by Wike and his thugs before being beaten and taken to Government House, Port Harcourt.

He vehemently denied being behind or recruiting anybody to print fake INEC result sheets and that attempts by Wike to link him to such criminal act is not only demeaning of his office but a new low for a state chief executive.

According to him, ‘let us assume without conceding that some people were printing fake INEC documents, is it the responsibility of Wike and Obuah to interrogate them in Government House? Why didn’t they call the Commissioner of Police? What are they afraid of, what were they hiding?

“Why is Wike so desperate to cause chaos and apprehension before the rerun election scheduled for December 10 by framing up leaders of APC in the state? Why is Wike always crying and shouting before every election?

According to Dakuku Peterside, “I have a track record of integrity, civility, law abiding and stickler for rule and law. I have zero tolerance for malfeasance and irresponsible behavior. All the efforts made to tarnish my reputation will be fruitless because Rivers people and Nigerians know me as a man of honour.”

Dakuku, who is also the Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), said APC was prepared to win the forthcoming rerun election because it has the goodwill, support and credible candidates to come out victorious.
