Nigeria’s apex court, the Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld the election of Governor Yahaya Bello as the duly elected governor of Kogi State.

The seven man panel of the court headed by Justice Slyester Ngwata dismissed the petitions filed by fellow All Progressives Congress, APC member, James Faleke as well as the petition of former Governor Idris Wada against the election of Bello who contested on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The Panel also dismissed the petitions of the Labour Party and the ADC against the election of Bello.

The Supreme Court Panel had given the summary judgment after listening to arguments from all the lawyers.

The Court however said it would provide reasons for its decision on September 30.
