Police rescue Deputy Controller of Prisons, his two children, 13 kidnap victims on East-West road

A Deputy Controller of Prisons, DCP Michael Okorie and and his two children were among the 16 Children rescued by the Rivers State Police command.

The command’s Public relations Officer, OMONI NNAMDI said 13 of those rescued were passengers on board a commercial bus who were kidnapped on the 5th of September 2016 along the Ndele Elele axis of the East West Road.

The Rivers Police command Spokesman, said the suspected abductors engaged the police in a gun duel during the operation to rescue the hostage.

He said efforts are ongoing to track them
