Rivers: Gov. Wike sacks 17 LGs Caretaker Committees

Barely 24 hours after the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, suspended four Commissioners for three months, he also sacked the Caretaker Committees of 17 Local Government Areas of the state.

A statement by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media noted that the dissolution of the Caretaker Committees takes immediate effect.

The following are the Local Government Caretaker Committees dissolved by the Governor:

Abua/Odual

Akuku Toru

Ahoada East

Andoni

Bonny

Eleme

Emohua

Etche

Ikwerre

Obio/Akpor

Ogu/Bolo

Okrika

Ogba/Egbema /Ndoni

Omuma

Oyigbo

Port Harcourt City

Tai

The statement informed that all the Caretaker Committee Chairmen are to hand over to the most senior officials in their respective councils.
