Abia: Appeal Court slams Justice Abang over judgment sacking Gov. Ikpeazu

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu

The Abuja division of Court of Appeal has accused Justice Okon Abang of committing great violence against the temple of justice in the way he handled the false tax information suit against Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.

The panel of appeal court justices said Justice Abang committed big error by his failure to listen to Mr. Okonji of Abia State Board of Internal Revenue on the alleged discrepancies in Governor Okezie’s tax paper before he reached his decision.

The court also said there was no question that the Governor paid his taxes as an employee of government then.

“I look at all the receipts, I did not see anything spectacularly wrong in them,” Justice Morenike Ogunwumiju who delivered the lead judgment said.

The sixth and last judgment being delivered now.
