Gbaramatu women, Tompolo kinsmen protest against youths’ arrest

Hundreds of women from Gbaramatu community from Warri South-West local Government area of Delta State, today in Warri metropolis, staged a peaceful protest over the arrest and detention of some youths of the community during the military operation on May 28.

The women who were wearing black attires carried banners with varying inscriptions like,”Buhari BringbackOur Boys”,Our Boys Are School Children”,Our Boys Are Not Members of the Niger Delta Avengers”,”Buhari Time Is Running Out” .

Some of the women rolled on the ground weeping that their innocent children were arrested by the military alleging that they are members of Niger Delta Avengers bombing oil facilities.

The People of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State are kinsmen of wanted Ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alleged that the arrested boys are wrongly accused of being bombers.

They lamented that for over 45 days, their youths wrongly arrested are languishing in detention.

The women called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release their children to them, otherwise, the protest will continue until the children are released to them.
