NUPENG, PENGASSAN suspend strike

Unions in the Nigeria oil industry, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) on Wednesday morning suspended the national strike they declared on 7 July after all night meeting with a Federal Government team.

The Federal Government team at the meeting was led the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige while officials of multinational oil companies were also in attendance.

The workers had declared the strike welfare, working conditions and lacking of funding of joint venture cash calls by the Federal Government among others.
