Ex-international Edema Fuludu has heaped praises on former Africa Cup of Nations,, AFCON, silver-medal winner, Paul Okoku for his contributions to the cause of the less-privileged in the Nigerian society
Fuludu, who spoke during the most recent outing of the Greater Tomorrow Children Foundation at the Igbe Primary School in Ogume, Ndokwa Local Government, where the foundation celebrated the 2016 Children’s Day and World Hunger Day with indigent village kids, said he was moved by the gesture Okoku extended to the community in Delta State.
In a remarkable show of humanitarian gesture, the Greater Tomorrow Children Foundation founded by Okoku put smiles on the faces of the kids, who were given goody bags containing spaghetti, noodles, biscuits, fruit drinks, candy, and note books, to the delight of their parents and elders of the village.
“This is really commendable because it takes a lot of vision and drive to come all the way to this remote part of Delta State to celebrate Children’s Day and World Hunger Day with these kids. For this noble gesture, Okoku deserves commendation because by so doing, he has demonstrated what humanitarian work is all about”, said Fuludu, who rallied corporate bodies to support the foundation in delivering on its mission statement to help less-privileged children in Nigeria achieve their maximum potentials by empowering them to create a brighter future through hunger relief, medical programmes, education, sport activities and mentoring.
“It is not in doubt that Okoku has through this foundation done his best to put smiles on the faces of indigent kids in primary schools and with a little support from well-meaning corporate Nigerian bodies, I am sure the foundation will do more to alleviate the plight of the less-privileged in our society”, said Fuludu, who urged Okoku not to relent in his quest to help the needy ones in Nigeria.
