The youth council of Eleme, the community which is host to the two national refineries in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and the Indoroma fertilizer plant have described recent claims by Niger Delta Avengers of bombing of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC crude transportation pipeline in the area as false.

The President of the youth body who spoke on behalf of the council, Prince Brain Gokpa, said “Our attention has been drawn to an online report credited to Niger Delta Avengers has blown up pipeline in Eleme local Government area as untrue, wicked and baseless as it is within the figment of the imagination of mischief makers who want to project Eleme as a troublesome local Government area.”

Prince Gokpa advised youths in the area to embrace peace.

“No person or group of persons or persons should give false alarm about security situation in the area. Miscreants and hoodlums in the area are warned to desist from their nefarious activities because the Council will not fold its hands and allow criminals in the area as we have the capacity to confront them in the area,” he added.
