After 15 days in captivity, the abducted wife and daughter of the former Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly,Hon. Tokunbo Oshin, have regained their freedom.
Mrs Nofisat Bola Oshin, a director of information, Odogbolu local government area and her daughter were kidnapped on 2 June.
The Police in a statement by spokesman, Deputy Superintendent of Police,DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, said the duo were rescued early this morning.
The police said they have been re-united with their family members.
“The wife and the child of the former deputy speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon Oshin,who were kidnapped almost two weeks ago have been rescued.
“They have been re-united with the family. Kudos to the Police and those who assisted in the rescue operation”, the statement reads in part.
The police were silent on whether ransom was paid for the captives, but Tokunbo Oshin, owner of Zipest filling stations in Ijebu Ode had told the abductors last week he was ready to part with N10 million. The kidnappers rejected the offer.
The abductor’s insisted on collecting N50 million as ransom for the woman and her young daughter.
