Kidnappers struck again in Kogi State on Sunday with the abduction of Mr. Ishaq Jimoh Usman, a judge of Customary Court of Appeal.
The Judge, it was learnt was abducted by unknown gunmen on Sunday evening at along Okene-Itakpe bypass in Adavi local government area of the state while returning to Lokoja.
The police orderly of the Judge was killed during the abduction of his principal while the driver escaped with gunshot injuries.
Yakubu Usman, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police confirmed the abduction of the Judge and the killing of the police orderly.
Usman also said his officers have begun frantic search for the abducted Judge while the kidnappers had also already contacted the family of the Judge.
The kidnapping of the Judge happened few days after the withdrawal of the detachment of a Special Anti-Robbery Squads and an aerial surveillance helicopter deployed to the state by the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase following the upsurge in kidnapping activities, especially along the major expressways of the state few weeks ago.
