The appeal of Senate President Bukola Saraki against his trial on 16 counts charges bordering on false declaration of assets was again stalled on Thursday.
In the appeal, the Senate President is challenging an earlier ruling in which the Tribunal affirmed that it has powers to try him.
The Senate President is asking the appellate court to declare his trial by the Tribunal invalid.
The appeal could not be heard at the originally schduled date of 31 May because the panel of the Appeal Court led by Justice Moore Adumen was not complete. The hearing was subsequently adjourned to this Thursday.
But the lead defence lawyer, Kanu Agabi, in a letter delivered by a member of his team told the court that he is ill and prayed for adjournment of the hearing.
Rotimi Jacobs, the lead prosecuting counsel did not oppose the application.
Justice Adumein subsequently adjourned hearing in the matter to July 18.
