Senate President Bukola Saraki

The trial of Senate President Bukola on 16 counts charges of false assets declaration before the Code of Conduct Tribunal was adjourned indefinitely on Wednesday.

This magazine gathered that the trial was adjourned because the first prosecution witness Michael Wetkas was busy in another court.

Sources at CTC however told this magazine that the Chairman, Mr Danladi Umar was not happy with the request for the adjournment.

Mr Danladi had last Wednesday adjourned proceedings to enable the Tribunal attend to other cases before it. The defence would have continued the cross examinations of the first prosecution witness if the trial had held.

Jacobs had at the last sitting of the Tribunal complained of the long drawn cross-examination of the prosecution witness by the defence team which has already entered the tenth day.

But the defence team led by Kanu Agabi (SAN) had insisted that it will go on with the painstaking cross-examination to ensure justice for its client.
