In the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo took charge to commission some of the various works of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode Lagos state.
Among them was a panoply of vehicles and motor bikes meant for security surveillance of the state. Bought at N1.85billion, it was the second batch of vehicles that the governor would buy for the Federal security agencies in the state. The first cost in excess of N4billion.
The assembled vehicles include 140 brand new Ford Ranger Pick-Ups & 335 Power Bikes fitted with communication gadgets, Helmets, Bullet Proof vests and other kits.
The beneficiaries are 107 police stations in the state and the 13 area commands. Others are the Nigeria Customs, Immigration Services, the Nigeria Army, Airforce, Navy, DSS, AIG Zone 2, Civil Defence.
Osinbajo also commissioned the LASEMA Rescue Unit and the reconstructed Ago Palace Way in Okota, Isolo Lagos.
