As the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP rounds off preparations for its National Convention holding this Saturday, May 21, 2016, in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State chapter Chairman of the party, Felix Obuah has commended the party leadership for the choice of the state capital as the venue for the convention.

Obuah in a statement, said the choice of Rivers as the host state shows the party leadership has foresight and appreciates commendable and remarkable efforts of the State Governor, Nyesom Wike, who is doing everything possible to bring life back to the party.

The State PDP chairman said the convention will once more showcase the tourism and hospitality potentials of Rivers people, and wish the delegates safe arrival to Port Harcourt.

According to him, all necessary machinery has been put in place for not only a successful convention but also one, both the party and delegates will joyfully live to remember.

Obuah appealed to Rivers people and all residents in the State to join the PDP in welcoming the party members from across the country and giving them a warm reception. He added that the great convention is aimed at selecting quality and resourceful Nigerians who will help pull the country out from the present political quagmire and economic predicaments forced on it by the visionless All Progressives Congress, APC-led federal government.

He also enjoined all to discountenance the propaganda by the enemies of progress and political detractors that the PDP is fictionalised over the national convention as the Saturday’s exercise will prove the party is one and intact.
