Abdelhamid Abaaoud: Paris terrorist: brother jailed

Moroccan court in charge of terrorism cases sentenced Friday to two years in prison Yassine Abaaoud, the younger brother of Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the alleged mastermind of Paris attacks last year.

The accused, born in Belgium in 1995, was sued for “defending terrorism” and “failure to report terrorist crimes.”

The public prosecutor representative had requested the condemnation of the suspect for all charges brought against him, while his defense requested acquittal arguing that Yassine Abaaoud “is not an extremist” and was “not aware” of his brother’s terrorist plans.

Abdelhamid Abaaoud was killed in an operation conducted by French police in Saint Denis, north of Paris.
