Enyimba International Football Club of Aba on Wednesday beat hosts Kano Pillars FC 2-1 in a rescheduled Match Day 7 fixture in the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Kano Pillars midfielder Rabiu Ali opened the scoring in the 22nd minute of the game with a superb free-kick at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
Striker Nzube Anaezemba drew the visitors level in the 53rd minute, before Ifeanyi George gave them the lead in the 82nd minute of the match.
The match was stopped for about 10 minutes when some angry fans started throwing sachets of water at an assistant referee.
The angry home fans were however controlled by the combined efforts of the stadium stewards and mobile policemen.
NAN reports that both teams’ coaches however refused to speak to newsmen immediately after the match.
