Breaking News: Iyabo Anisulowo rescued

Kidnapped former senator and minister, Iyabo Anisulowo has been rescued.

She was rescued by the police at about 7pm today  in Gbegbelawo village near Olorunda town in Abeokuta North Council Area, Ogun state, less than 24 hours after the police offered N5m for information on her whereabouts.

 

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement in Abeokuta confirmed the development.

Anisulowo was kidnapped on Sawonjo-Iganokoto road in Yewa-South Council Area of the state last week Wednesday.

The state Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, and other senior officers of the command had relocated to the local government area on Friday to intensify efforts on the rescue mission.

The police on Monday had announced a N5million reward for anyone who could provide useful information leading to her rescue.

The statement said two persons  were arrested during the rescue effort.
