Happening Now: Buhari meets Saraki, Dogara over budget impasse

Buhari welcomes Saraki to the meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice-president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo  are right now ensconced in a meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja  with the leaders of the National Assembly to resolve the many issues over the 2016 budget.

Attending the meeting are Senate President Bukola Saraki and House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara. Senator Ike ekweremadu, deputy Senate President is also in attendance.

Also in attendance are Chief of Staff Mallam Abba Kyari, Minister of National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, senior special assistants,  Sen Ita Enang and Sulieman Kawu.

The National Assembly leaders also came with some of their principal officers.

The meeting was initially scheduled for the afternoon, but was rescheduled for this evening.

The executive  has pointed out many areas it wants the National Assembly amend the budget passed for presidential assent since 23 March.
