Seven minutes after, Maximilian Arnold increased doubled the hosts tally, in the match that showed traces of poor officiating.
Despite mounting a lot of pressure on Wolfburg, Madrid were unable to rally to register at least a goal.
The Spanish giants have a lot of work to do in the second leg.

So after beating Barca at Camp Nou on Saturday Madrid fell to the eighth-placed team in Germany on Wednesday night, and now need a huge reaction to turn this tie around.
