Olubadan-in-council demotes Ajibola as Baale of Ido

The Olubadan-in-Council today suspend Onido of Ido, Chief Tajudeen Agura over a petition against the traditional father warning that Onido should stop parading himself as Onido pending the determination of the petition against him.

Disclosing this to newsmen, Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, Chief Tajudeen Ajibola, after a closed door meeting with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, said that the suspension of the Baale was effective from Wednesday April 6 2016. However, the crime the embattled baale committed as contained in the petition against was not disclosed.

Ajibola said: “Agura seizes to become the Baale of Ido until the council decides otherwise”.

According to the Osi Balogun, the Council had received a petition on Agura after which he was suspended to enable proper investigation of the matter, but that the embattled traditional ruler has continued to parade himself as the Baale Onido of Ido.

Ajibola further told newsmen that the council would be holding a thanksgiving service for the successful installation ceremony of the new Olubadan.
Details of the event as disclosed by Ajibola include prayers at the Central Mosque, Oja’ba, and Cathedral Church of St. Davids, Kudeti Ibadan on Friday April 8 and Sunday April 10 respectively.

According to him, first Class traditional rulers and dignitaries from all walks of life would be attending the services.

He also noted that the proposed thanksgiving services are expected to offer opportunities for clerics and religious leaders from different denomination to pray for Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria and the leaders.
