Arsenal FC consolidated up their third position on the English Premier League table with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Watford.
Two goals at each half of the match at Emirates Stadium gave Arsenal victory and a sweet revenge over Watford who had bundled them out of a third successive FA Cup semi-final.
Arsenal now have 58 points, three behind Tottenham, who play later against Liverpool. Leiecester, the leaders are 8 points away. They play on Sunday against Southampton, the same day Manchester united will take on Everton.
Alexis Sanchez first scored in the 4th minute and Alex Iwobi fresh from his Nigerian engagement netted the second goal on 38th minute.
The 19-year-old Iwobi set up Alexis Sanchez for the opener. The Chilean returned the favour, with Iwobi sweeping in the finish in the 38th. He also scored in a 2-0 win at Everton before the international break.
At the resumption of play, Hector Bellerin’s deflected kick gave Arsenal an unassailable lead on 48th minute. Substitute Theo Walcott, who replaced Iwobi at the 74th minute, knocked in the fourth goal just before the end of proceedings in London.
Manchester City also continued to pile pressure on the league leaders beating AFC Bournemouth away 4-0, three of the goals scored in the first half.
Fernando, Kevin de Bruyne and Sergio Aguero all registered in the first half, while Aleksander Kolarov scored the fourth goal just before the blow of the final whistle.
West Ham wasted a 2-1 lead hosting Crystal Palace, after coming from behind to cancel a 15th minute goal by Damien Delaney. Dimitri Payet put the team ahead in the 41st minute, but Dwight Gayle cancelled the goal for Palace to share the spoils with West ham. The equaliser came after Cheikhou Kouyate was sent off.
