Lagos-based MFM FC on Friday announced that its striker Ifeanyi Ifeanyi has been voted the “Player of the Month of March’’ by the club’s players.

A statement by the club’s spokesman, Olawale Quadri, said in Lagos on Friday that the striker was voted the club’s most outstanding player following his contributions to the team.

The statement said that the club’s outstanding striker was picked by his colleagues.

“Following his exploits and sublime form in the month of March, 2016, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi has been voted MFM of Lagos player of the month.

“Ifeanyi has been ever present for the Olukoya Boys with top-notch performances in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

“He has also featured in every match in the 2016 Lagos State Football Association (FA) Cup.

“The former Nigeria U-20 midfield maestro was picked by his teammates as player of month ahead of in-form stand-in Captain, Austine Okpara and goalkeeper James Aiyeyemi,’’ it said.

The statement said that Ifeanyi in turn appreciated his teammates and thanked the management of the club for the award.

“I will like to appreciate my colleagues who voted for me and also the management, I really appreciate their gesture,’’ it quoted him as saying.

Ifeanyi received accolades from the club’s Chairman, Godwin Enakhena at the event which was also used to celebrate the birthday

of pacy attacker, Henry Abara, the statement said.
