Sanders beats Hillary in Washington, Alaska

Sanders: hoping to win 3 states

Just as predicted Senator Bernie Sanders has created an upset, beating his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton in the party’s caucuses in the two states of Alaska and Washington.

With 32% of the results for the Washington caucuses in by 12 midnight GMT, Sanders had already won 18 delegates, leading Hillary in the votes, 75.6% to 24.2 %. Hillary got 5 delegates so far. There are 101 delegates at stake here.

In Alaska, Sanders also prevailed and has scooped 9 delegates.

The result for Hawaii will be known later. Twenty five delegates are up for grabs here.
