Johan Cruyff loses cancer battle

Cruyff: he was just 68

Dutch soccer great Johan Cruyff has died at the age of 68 following battle with lung cancer.

The man who had said he would defeat the scourge, finally succumbed today.

UEFA in  obituary tweets said it was  saddened to learn of the death of legendary player, coach and administrator.

“Cruyff inspired millions with his skills and free approach to football in 70s. And his passion has seen more than 200 Cruyff Courts opened along with many social projects”.

Cruyff was at various times coach of AFC Ajax and FC Barcelona.
