The suspect, identified as John, was among six suspected criminals recently paraded by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Leye Oyebade.
According to a report on Radio Nigeria Ibadan, the suspect confessed that he kidnapped his cousin to punish his uncle for refusing to help him financially and that he was not aware that his uncle had reprted to the police as he did not mean to harm the girl.
The thirteen year old victim who narrated her ordeal in the hands of brother, appreciated the police for coming to her aid on time before her uncle could further hurt her.
Parading the suspect, Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Leye Oyebade, said the command had partnered Oyo State Government on a bill that would address the issue of kidnapping as culprits always had inside information before carrying out the crime.
Mr Oyebade therefore called on criminally minded people to desist from the act or leave the state as the command had declared war against them.
