Sunday Oliseh: ex – chief coach of Super Eagles

Former coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh has swiftly changed his profile on Twitter hours after informing his employers, the Nigerian Football Federation, that he is walking out on his seventh month old job.

He now describes himself, ”ex – chief coach Super Eagles Nigeria”, sports consultant, FIFA technical member…” on his Twitter page @SundayOOliseh.

Nigerians woke up to learn that Oliseh had quit probably the most difficult coaching job in the world, over what he described as “Contract violations ,lack of Support,Unpaid wages,Benefits to my players,Assistant Coaches and myself”.

The parting of ways was inevitable in view of the uneasy relationship between Oliseh and his employers.

It reached a climactic point with Oliseh failing to take Nigeria’s Super Eagles B to the knockout stage of the African Nations Championship in Kigali, Rwanda.

Thereafter Oliseh angered his employers and Nigerians when he described his critics as “insane”.

The NFF Lords imposed a $3000 fine on Oliseh for his video tantrum and in another move, sacked Tijani Babangida, Oliseh ‘ s assistant.
Oliseh insisted that Babangida was not the staff of the NFF, but hired by him to assist him.

Matters came to a head Thursday, when the NFF announced that the chief coach of the Super Eagles, will now be reporting to Shuaibu A module, a former chief coach of the team, but now NFF technical director.

The NFF officials now in Zurich to attend FIFA World Congress have not responded to the latest development.
