The Management of Niger Delta University has shut down the school after a violent protest by some 200 Level Engineering students in the school yesterday.

The protest followed the introduction of a new rule in the Faculty, which states that
a student that fails any of the three Core Engineering Courses will earn automatic withdrawal from the faculty.

Over 20 Final year Engineering students were immediately affected and asked to leave the Faculty.
