Oba Ogunwusi, OOni of Ife

All is now set  in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state as the Ooni of Ile Ife,Oba Enitan Ogunwusi visits  the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona this morning.

As at the time of filing this report, the palace was being spruced up to receive the royal visitor at 10 a.m.

Some Ijebu monarchs, High Chiefs and some personalities are seeing coming into the Awujale palace in two’ and three’s, to join the revered monarch, Awujale in playing host to the newly crowned Arole Oodua,Oba Ogunwusi.

The visit is scheduled for the Awujale’s palace ground at 10 a.m.

Oba Ogunwusi’s predecessor  Oba Okunade Sijuade also visited Ijebu-Ode in the early 80s.

This will be the second visit by Oba Ogunwusi to a first class traditional ruler since he assumed office about two months ago.

The first was the surprise appearance of the Ooni at the 45th anniversary on the throne of the Alafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.

The last time any Ooni and Alaafin met was in 1937, about 79 years ago.
