Former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi, now Minister of Transport was in the spotlight in the wake of the Supreme Court ‘shocking’ verdict upholding Nyesom Wike’s election as governor of Rivers State.
Amaechi expectedly wanted his protege, a former works commissioner and former House of Representatives member, Dakuku Peterside succeed and had worked hard to ensure this came to pass, what with rulings by lower courts, the Election Tribunal, the Appeal court ordering a rerun of the election held 11 April last year. But Supreme Court decided otherwise.
Trust Nigerians to dig out symbolisms to capture the moment: suddenly emerged an apt photograph of Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi carrying a cross.
