Roger Federer booked the first spot in the Australia Open semi final with a clinical straight-sets win over Tomas Berdych on Tuesday.
It was the Swiss maestro’s 12th Australian Open semi-final in 13 years
The Swiss 17-time Grand Slam champion was too strong for the Czech sixth seed, winning 7-6 (7/4), 6-2, 6-4 in two hours, 16 minutes.
He will face either defending champion Novak Djokovic or Japan’s Kei Nishikori in Thursday’s semi-final. The duo will play later today.
