The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to arraign Olisa Metuh, the national publicity secretary of Peoples Democratic Party on seven count charge of breach of public trust, corrupt acquisition of public funds and money laundering.

The seven count charge was filed before the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday morning by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

A lawyer to the EFCC, Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), said Metuh may be arraigned today.

Metuh has been in custody of EFCC for over a week on allegations that he received the sum of N400 million from the office of National Security Adviser.

Also, Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday refused Metuh’s application to compel the EFCC to respond to his fundamental rights enforcement application on Thursday.

The Judge ruled that EFCC should be allowed to respond to the application since the fundamental rights enforcement procedure rules allows a respondent five days to respond.
