Jamie Vardy injury blow to Leicester

Vardy: sidelined by injury

Jamie Vardy, one English premier league’s top scorers  has opted for surgery over a niggling groin injury.

UK newspapers said Leicester city, now second on the league table,   will lose the   striker ‘s service for at least two weeks. And that will be a major worry for Manager Claudio Ranieri.

Vardy has played through a succession of minor injuries this season, including having two broken bones in his wrist, but the East Midlands outfit believe the time is right to operate on another of their prized asset’s niggling injury problems during the winter transfer window.

Leicester face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 10th January in the FA Cup before returning to White Hart Lane three days later to play Mauricio Pochettino’s men in the League.

Vardy, who may return in time for the latter of the two trips to the capital, played during the entirety of the 0-0 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.
