Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, will on Monday, 4th January, 2016 swear in Justice Daisy Wotube Okocha as the substantive Chief Judge of the state .

A statement issued by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media said that her swearing-in will hold at the Executive Council Chamber of Government House, Port Harcourt by 10am.

Justice Diasy Okocha has been the Acting Chief of Rivers state since May 29, 2015 when she was appointed by Wike.

On November 30 the Rivers State Government said the National Judicial Council, NJC, recommended the extension of her appointment from 1st December, 2015 to 15th January, 2016.

Wike accordingly approved the extension of the appointment of Justice Daisy Okocha.

However following the Court of Appeal judgement that dismissed the suit challenging her appointment as Chief Judge of Rivers State, the coast became clear for her swearing in as substantive Chief Judge by the state Governor now slated for January 4.2016
