Odion Ighalo: nets brace against Liverpool

Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo has continued to prove that he is one of the lethal strikers in the Barclays Premier League, with a brace recorded against Liverpool today, further ruining Liverpool’s hopes of cementing a place in the first four.

Ighalo first struck in the 15th minute to double the first goal by Nathan Ake, who had tapped in a loose ball by Liverpool keeper, Adam Bogdan.

It was the keeper’s first Premier League start this season.

As he went to claim a routine corner from the hosts, he fumbled with the ball on the line to allow Nathan Ake to tap home.

In the 85th minute, Ighalo nodded home a cross to give the hosts a resounding 3-0 victory over Liverpool. The brace increases Ighalo’s goal haul to 12 in 17 matches.
