The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has started delivering judgment in the cross appeal filed by Governor Udom Emmanuel and the Chief Umana Okon Umana, candidate of the All Progressives Congress over the 11 April governorship election in the state.
Appeal court has just dismissed interlocutory appeal of PDP challenging the nomination of Umana as the candidate of APC in the Akwa Ibom governorship contest.
The court held that Umana was validly nominated.
The court also upheld nullification of election in 18 Akwa Ibom LGAs by Tribunal
A panel of five appeal court justices had just upheld the judgement of the Akwa Ibom State Governorship Election Tribunal of 21 October nullifying results of the 11 April governorship election in 18 local government areas of the state.
It is 3-0 against Governor Udom Emmanuel as Court of Appeal has also dismissed INEC and PDP challenge of the decision of Akwa Ibom Election Petition Tribunal nullifying results of April 11 governorship election in 18 local government of the State.
And finally the court nullified the entire election and ordered a rerun in 90 days.
