Akwa Ibom: Appeal court backs fresh polls in 18 LGs

The Appeal court sitting in Abuja has upheld the nullification of election in 18 Akwa Ibom LGAs, as ordered by the Governorship Election Tribunal

A panel of five appeal court justices were giving their ruling on the 21 October judgment of the lower court, which had nullified the results of the 11 April governorship election in 18 local government areas of the state.

The verdict is ongoing.
