A celebratory march in Onitsha by supporters of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has turned ugly as Nigerian soldiers stationed in the commercial opened fire on them, killing five of them.
According to reports, the peaceful marchers came to the streets to celebrate the declaration by an Abuja Federal High Court that the DSS release Kanu unconditionally. Kanu has been in detention since September.
