UEFA League: Arsenal to meet Barcelona, Chelsea take on PSG

Arsenal Players: Big task paired with Barcelona

Arsenal FC were ‘rewarded’ for their great escape from the round of 32 in the UEFA champions league, with another Everest mountain to climb: a clash with Spanish giants and defending champions, Barcelona  in the knockout stage.

Arsenal whose coach, Arsene Wenger was hoping for a lucky draw, had his optimism shattered with the Barcelona date.

Barcelona beat Arsenal in the 2009/2010 quarter finals and2010/2011 round of 16, and also the 2006 UEFA Champions League final in Saint-Denis, France.

The Catalan giants will travel to Emirates Stadium for the first leg in February, with the second leg in Barcelona in March.

Chelsea will meet Paris Saint Germaine, while the Italian giants, Juventus will battle Bayern Munich, the German league leaders.

Chelsea and Paris have met in each of the last two seasons, Chelsea winning their 2013/2014 quarter finals and Paris edging last season’s round of 16 tie on away goals.
