The Rivers State Police Command today, 1 December, 2015, at about 4.30 am rescued two victims from Umubele Waterfront in Emohua local government area of the state.
According to a statement from Ahmad Muhammad, DSP, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, said the command has continued its onslaught on the suspected criminals’ hideout.
According to the Police, the rescued victims were Chris Lebare and George Amuobi.
Muhammad said: “On 1 December 2015, at about 4:30 am, a tactical unit of the Command stormed Umubele waterfront in Port Harcourt and successfully rescued two more kidnapped victims, namely Chris Lebare and George Amuobi. The duo were differently kidnapped on 22 November 2015 along Rumuokoro/Rumuigbo roads in Port Harcourt.”
In the operation, three unidentified suspected kidnappers, found guarding the rescued victims got fatally shot dead in the course of rescuing the victims.
Police said it recovered two locally made pistols, one axe and charms from the kidnappers’ den.
The Commissioner of Police enjoined the good people of Rivers State to continue to have trust in the ability of the police to tackle any security challenge.
Just last week, the Tactical Unit of the Command at the same Umudele Waterfront rescued two victims.
