Governors of States in the South-East, National Assembly members from the zone and the leadership of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo have agreed to meet in Enugu on Sunday over agitation for Biafra.
Chief Press Secretary to Imo state Governor, Mr Sam Onwuemeodo, said the meeting was in continuation of the governors’ earlier deliberations on how to resolve the issue of the pro-Biafra protests.
“It is also on the demand by the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), which had gained momentum in recent times.
“The meeting is slated for noon at Government House, Enugu.’’
Onwuemeodo explained that the governors had met on Tuesday.
“The meeting was presided over by Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo where they all sued for peace.’’
On Wednesday, despite warnings by the army, pro-Biafra demonstrators poured onto the streets of Aba, the commercial capital of Abia state.
