On a Friday night when concert-goers were enjoying a concert in central Paris and when soccer fans were watching a match between France and Germany at the Stade de France, a series of terror attacks befell, killing at least 153 people as of now, leaving the nation in mourning and the world in outrage.

Below is a list of deadly terror attacks around the world in recent years:

On Oct. 10, 2015, twin blasts hit the central train station in Ankara, Turkey, killing at least 102 people and injuring more than 200.

On Aug. 21, 2015, an armed man opened fire on passengers of a Thalys high-speed train between Amsterdam and Paris, wounding three before being arrested.

On June 26, 2015, two men loyal to the Islamic State beheaded one man and rammed a car into the gas containers of a U.S. gas company in southeast France, triggering an explosion and injuring two others.

On April 2, 2015, the Islamic extremism group Al-Shabaab attacked Garissa University College in Kenya, killing 148 people, 142 of whom were students.

On Jan. 7, 2015, two gunmen stormed into the Paris-based Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine offices and shot dead 12 people. An apparent associate of the shooters killed a police and four hostages held at a market in the flowing two days.

On Dec. 16, 2014, a group of armed militants disguised as military men attacked a military-run school in Peshawar, Pakistan, killing at least 141 people –132 children and nine staff members, while injuring 133 others.

On May 24, 2014, a shooting targeting a Jewish museum in Brussels, Belgium, killed four people, including a French, two Israelis and a Belgian.

On April 14, 2014, more than 300 school girls were abducted in Chibok in Northeastern Nigeria’s Borno State, one day after a deadly bomb blast at a bus station in the Nyanya suburb of Abuja killed 75 and injured hundreds more. So far, 219 of the 300 girls remained unaccounted for.
